Amazing experience, beautiful walk through an amazing array of geothermal features. The whole walk is very well signposted, the track well maintained and you can tailor the walk to your level of fitness and ability using their bus. Definitely include the boat trip if you can. You are taken across the lake and see several places impossible to get to on foot. Plus the commentary given is tremendously informative

Family trip of a lifetime. Empowering spiritual experience for the family. Scenic volcanic leisurely walk along stunning lakes, streams and forest going at our own pace which requires a low to medium level of fitness as you are walking for up to 2 hours. However, at the end of the self guide track is a bus which is great after walking with kids which comes as a scenic ride back up to the information center and cafe. There is also a boat tour at the end of the track. I recommend if you do the boat tour to book in advance. We had a lovely luncheon at the cafe over looking the beautiful scenic vista of a sub tropical rainforest. A family memory of a life time to savor!

Beautiful geothermal experience in a calm and natural setting. You can walk the trail down and several bus stops can bring you back to the visitor center (the trail head). Busses follow a timetable and are between 1-2 times hourly. Easy walk.
