2 months agoVery nice walk through old pines alongside Waikato river. Lovely clear water and undulating pathway. Some nice spots for photos. Several benches and lookouts along the way. If you are near the pines about 30 minutes before sunset then you will be treated with a fantastic sight of thousands of starlings coming in to roost.

3 weeks agoA gentle trail runs alongside the river, offering a peaceful walk. The waterfalls can be reached in about 45 to 60 minutes, especially if you take time to enjoy the river’s clear waters and strong flow. Parking and restrooms are available at the start of the trail. You can also reach the dam in about 3 hours. In July, the dam opens at 10 AM, 12 PM, and 2 PM, offering a chance to witness the water release.

4 months agostunning huge waterfall. But it’s stacked with tourists and just way to crowded. Enjoyed the walk up the river to the spa pools more than the waterfall
