6 months agoNice little gem on the side of the road - a family friend recommended this place as we love a good fish n chips when we're camping away from home. The CS was a bit stand offish - they weren't rude but they also weren't friendly - we asked for recommendations on what to try as first timers and got no reply so we just ordered what we wanted to taste on the spot. The fish and chips was really good, the battered oysters were OK (the oysters were still a bit raw and we peferred them really cooked) and the raw fish was a total letdown - it was really dry and seemed like it was a batch from the previous day. We will be happy to go back for the fish and chips ONLY. The eating area is however the highlight - it looks out to the beautiful sea and has plenty spaces to sit and eat - also parking wasn't an issue as well.

3 months agoThe best, freshest fish n chips in the Bay. We always come here. A light batter on the fish and perfectly cooked chips. Service is also outstanding. While you wait, enjoy he view of the harbour, which can be breath-taking.

6 months agoI loved coming here with my family at 6 years old, and I can still say that even now, it's as amazing as it was back then. Only cost me $9 for chips, a hotdog, and a donut. The girl who served me was super friendly and chatty also! Amazing views and awesome food! Highly recommend stopping here when your hungry!

3 months agoHuge disappointment The battered oysters looked and tasted like rubber and I got a big hunk of shell in one. The fish was hard and the batter wasn't crispy and FULL of oil.. it felt like the fryers weren't hot enough or something because everything was oily and not crispy. To be honest I've had better at my local corner store for half the price. Massive let down which was a huge shame as I made a big trip to come here. On the plus side they did give me more than I ordered which was generous, the seating area was nice and relaxing and the lady at the counter was lovely, polite and friendly. Unfortunately I won't go back.

a year agoHave driven past this place a few times in the last couple of weeks. I have been waiting to go have some food. My last chance before leaving New Zealand was today everything I wanted they didn’t have available. Lots of packaged muscles, oysters and lots of fresh Unfortunately when it comes to takeaway couldn’t try any food and didn’t have coffee. The place is lovely Salt Lake I stood in the rain a few minutes while they prepared another ladies meal then when I got served there was nothing available. disappointed. maybe next time
