Get ready for a vibrant cultural celebration! The Nagar Kirtan – Sikh Parade is coming to Te Puke this Saturday, September 27, 2025.

Nagar Kirtan is a beautiful Sikh custom where devotional hymns are sung throughout the community. “Nagar” means neighborhood, and “Kirtan” means the singing of hymns. This event shares the Guru’s message of love, compassion, equality, selfless service, and inter-faith harmony.

The colorful procession will be led by the saffron-robed Panj Piare (the five beloved of the Guru), followed by the Guru Granth Sahib (holy Sikh Scripture) on a float. The parade will conclude at the Gurudwara with prayer and a shared meal (kai).
