Calling All Te Puke Locals: Let’s Make Our Town Shine!
Te Puke is set to get a major spring clean, and the whole community is invited to get involved. Building on the successful mahi of Keep Te Puke Beautiful, local organisations are teaming up to launch the Great Te Puke Tidy Up, a week-long initiative culminating in a community Spring Clean & Pizza Party.
From Monday, September 15th, to Friday, September 19th, schools, kura, businesses, clubs, and community groups are encouraged to roll up their sleeves and take part in a town-wide tidy-up. This is a fantastic opportunity for everyone to show their pride in Te Puke and make a tangible difference in their own neighbourhoods.
Participants can choose how they want to contribute: from conducting a simple litter audit in their local street to hosting a full-scale clean-up session with their group. The goal is to get as many people as possible actively involved in protecting our beautiful environment and fostering a sense of shared responsibility.
The week of hard work will be celebrated on Friday, September 19th, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., with the Spring Clean & Pizza Party. The event will kick off with a final downtown litter sweep, followed by a get-together at The Daily Café. This is a chance for everyone to relax, enjoy some free pizza, and celebrate the collective effort that went into the week. Prizes will also be up for grabs, adding a bit of fun to the community spirit.
The Great Te Puke Tidy Up is more than just a clean-up; it’s a way to strengthen our community bonds, protect our natural surroundings, and have a bit of fun along the way.
