Beyond the Orchard Gate: Gardens on Wheels Celebrates Te Puke’s Horticultural & Creative Excellence
Te Puke, globally recognised as the Kiwifruit Capital of the World, recently proved its horticultural expertise extends far beyond the commercial orchard with the spectacular success of Gardens on Wheels 2025. This vibrant community event, held last weekend in Jubilee Park, transformed everyday objects into moving botanical masterpieces, showcasing the immense talent and creative standard present throughout our entire region.
The event, which ran in conjunction with the successful three-day Te Puke Kiwi Coast Lions Garden Ramble, attracted huge crowds eager to admire the sheer ingenuity on display. From highly detailed wheelbarrows to imaginatively converted trailers, the installations demonstrated a level of planning, care, and design that mirrors the high standards of presentation we expect from our world-class primary industries. Judges noted the impressive quality across all categories, with both professional landscapers and enthusiastic tamariki (children) delivering truly show-stopping entries.
The Vector Group Charitable Trust was proud to document this fantastic celebration. Our team was on-site throughout the day capturing the artistic details, the excitement of the prize-giving, and the overall community engagement, ensuring this memorable day is preserved for a long-term visual archive.
This collective spirit, a hallmark of Te Puke, was further strengthened by the dedicated collaboration with the Te Puke Kiwi Coast Lions Garden Ramble committee, whose hard work elevated the entire weekend of gardening events. Special thanks go to our generous community sponsors who continually invest in Te Puke’s local vibrancy: Arun Mehan Bayleys Real Estate, Te Puke Landscape Supplies, Te Puke Community Garden, Te Puke Mitre 10, Trevelyan’s Pack and Cool Ltd, Pacifica Home & Garden Store, and many more.
The Gardens on Wheels event reinforces that Te Puke is not only a capital for commerce but also a thriving hub of creativity, collaboration, and horticultural excellence.
