Te Puke’s Community Spirit Shines at the Great Spring Clean
As the undisputed Kiwifruit Capital of the World, Te Puke’s success is rooted not only in its fertile land but also in its vibrant and dedicated community. This spirit was on full display at the Great Te Puke Spring Clean & Pizza Party, an event that brought residents together for an afternoon of collective effort and shared pride in our town.
The turnout was truly remarkable. It was inspiring to see so many hands working together to tidy our streets and parks, from the youngest students to local business teams. The waste collected will be sorted and weighed, and we look forward to seeing the results of this fantastic community initiative next week.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined in. Special acknowledgement goes to the Te Puke Intermediate Eco Class, Kiwicoast Lions, Janine’s homeschool group, and Te Puke Scouts. We also want to thank the Poutiri Wellness Centre, the team from Trevelyan’s Pack and Cool Ltd for their excellent work in Jubilee Park, and the energetic crew from Youth Encounter NZ.
We also appreciate the community groups who shared their expertise and valuable work on the day: Space for Nature, Predator Free BOP, Envirohub Bay of Plenty, Western Bay of Plenty District Council, Sea Cleaners .com, and the Maketu Ongatoro Wetland Society.

A Great Accolade to Our Epic Organisers
The highest praise and a huge THANK YOU must go to Craig & Katherine of Keep Te Puke Beautiful. As the organisers of this incredible event, they are the driving force behind the “epic Te Puke team.” Their vision, passion, and commitment to maintaining our town’s pristine appearance are an inspiration to all. They demonstrate that a successful community is a clean, well-cared-for one, and for that, we are immensely grateful. Thank you also to their awesome sidekick, Kiki the Kiwi!
A special mention and huge appreciation also goes to the Vector Group Charitable Trust for capturing the day’s events with their professional videography and photography.
The momentum continues! Keep Te Puke Beautiful is hosting another clean-up event tomorrow, Sunday, at 10 a.m. in Jubilee Park. We encourage everyone to come along and get involved to help keep the Kiwifruit Capital looking its best.
